Abstract oil painting in dark greys, yellows and blues in a champagne-gold frame with a blue linen liner.

A fresh frame, a new appreciation of the painting

Recently bought at auction, this Gerard Dillon oil on board came to us for a thoughtful update to its dated framing. We chose a champagne-gold moulding from Salvadori Cornici to echo the lighter tones within the painting and bring its darker passages into sharper contrast. The original blue linen liner was kept, because its texture and colour still worked beautifully with the artwork. Museum-grade acrylic glazing completes the new presentation, adding protection while keeping the painting at the heart of the design.
